Day 34: Check Out the NYC Film Forum

Day 34: Check Out the NYC Film Forum

If you're looking for something to do some evening this week or over the weekend, check out the New York City Film Forum. At the Film Forum, you can see films from provocative indie films to the best foreign art cinema from the top film festivals around the world. Apparently the concession stand's lemon-poppy sponge cake comes highly recommended.

As a cinema of ideas, Film Forum is committed to presenting an international array of films that treat diverse social, political, historical and cultural realities. Unlike commercial cinemas that primarily “book” high-grossing, Hollywood films, Film Forum’s programs are thoughtfully curated, with attention to unique cinematic qualities, historical importance individually or within a genre and, particularly for documentaries, relevance to today’s world. For current films, times, directions, click here. The theater is located at 209 West Houston Street, New York, NY 10014, between 6th Avenue and Varick (7th Avenue).
